SPX328 is a mini-crane for rental purposes designed for Jekko. Its design enhances the pro characteristics while using smooth lines to reassure the non-expert user. The easy-to-use radio control allows to move it with simple gestures while being guided by a user interface that works as a step-by-step guide. A complete range of accessories and components, positioned in integrated and easily accessible drawers, are always available to the user wherever he goes.

We worked to make a leap
in the rental mini-crane
market.

_______
The building and construction market is various and diversified. Contractors and builders are not normally equipped with all the machinery they need on site, so they use rental services. This is how and where SPX328 will be used.
One of our goals was to develop a new product design language for rental machines, by making it different from Jekko existing range and by simplifying the complicated functions of a pro machine.

SPX328 was conceived after
in-depth research of the market

_______
And several co-design workshops with company managers and technicians. Thanks to our involvement since the beginning of the project, it was possible not only to strategically help the company positioning in the market but also developing a complete product user experience.

Power is nothing
without control.

The SPX328 remote control was redesigned to be instinctive and reliable, especially for non-specialist operators using the crane for the first time. Its mirrored button layout reflects the physical levers, reducing confusion and enhancing precision. Each function is paired with an icon-based visual guide, while the joystick allows smooth, controlled movement of the crane arm. Designed with a hybrid user in mind, it blends the familiarity of analogue controls with the responsiveness of a digital interface. A built-in, always-visible step-by-step guide supports the operator throughout every action, reducing training time and reinforcing safe, confident operation.

Safety is the most
important thing.

_______
The interface is engineered to support both speed and awareness. Clear, high-contrast screens walk the user through all core operations: moving, stabilising, working, recharging, while advanced functions like diagnostics and fault handling are immediately accessible when needed. Designed for challenging environments and time-sensitive work, the system reduces cognitive load while maximising control, with content and logic refined through real-user testing across roles from technicians to rental operators.
